i have tein s-tech springs. you can find them on ebaymotors for pretty cheap, like $140 shipped--BUT you will need struts, tokico or KYB are pretty good. do a search on the forums for our models (98-02)

i think intrax springs might be better for 98-02, but not sure...

i think he's asking specifically about struts.

junglechiken - don't skimp on your suspension. don't go with dropzone or anything cheap from ebay. save your money and do it right the FIRST time...otherwise, you'll be paying twice(or more) for the same job.

KYB is a relatively inexpensive strut...i know tirerack carries them(or they did last i looked).

I stand by completely by jyb gr2s for the corolla, very stiff and very comfy on my rolla, which is lowered 2 inches all around. They have had 80k miles on the coil over kit and kyb gr2s and they feel totally like new, i was very very and still am very impressed with the performance and quality

the kybs are alright. they weren't my choice, but i know Vamp liked his quite a bit. they're also the most inexpensive lowering strut you can buy that's worth the purchase.

our cars don't have shocks :)

beyond that, i couldn't tell you at 2 in the morning...just can't remember. you might want to try researching that over at www.howstuffworks.com , or google it up.

struts are where the spring and the damper are mounted together.

shocks are where the spring and damper are seperate.

Please correct me if i'm wrong :)

Sounds good to me. In other words - struts are the assembly, while a shock is 1 part of the assembly or just a stand-alone.

all my buddys who run tokicos complain they get soft after a while ie 30-50k miles, they all have the adjustables on jdm style integras, seems that tokicos have valve issues on the adjustables but maybe its something else

    err

that's not always the case. mine are now 20k old and still feel as stiff as they were after they settled a bit.

i know, tons of people complain that kybs arent stiff or kybs dont last, tell that to the kybs on my coilovers with over 80k on them

they work just fine, i think weight, the way you drive, how much you drive ect... all comes into play, chassis stiffness, weigth distribution all that comes into play with the longevity of the struts.... plus as we all know bad batches of product do come out from aftermarket companys
