Somebody help, my car is going crazy!

My 00 Prizm is developing some sort of problem, which I somewhat believe to be fuel related, but I really can't figure it out. When the car is first started, it idles a little hard, but not enough to be alarming. When i put it in reverse to back out of my driveway, it chugs really hard and occasionally stalls. When I start the car and go into drive, it idles and souonds fine, until I press the gas. It just coasts, and sounds like its not running at all, but you can hear it knocking, but it won't rev at all. If you let off the gas, it goes right back to normal idle. It will do this three or four times, then finally, I hit the gas, it sounds like its going to stall, then suddenly idles up and takes off. After about five minutes of driving, I can drive all day and it won't have another problem. Only has the problem after the car has been sitting for at least a few minutes. Also, last week when it did this, the check engine light came on, I read the code and it said "Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire", I cleared the code, but this morning it came back on. Haven't read it yet, but I'm sure its the same code. If anyone can help at all, it would be greatly appreciated.

its probably your cylinder coils......same shit happened to me.....unfortunately.......I spent too much paying a fucking mechanic to just check it and replace the coil and also replace my spark plugs and wires.......

Does anybody sell upgrades for either the coils that go on each spark plug or the wires that go to them. As I replace parts I like to try and upgrade a bit.

had a problem like this on my chevy corsica. happened after I used fuel injection cleaner, turns out the chemical ate away the head gasket. not an expensive part, but to have someone dismantled the headers cost me like $300.
