    help!! scratch my TRD exhaust!

yeah.....bad luck today not paying attention while driving....

so scratched up the lower part of the tip....I know it's not obvious, but it's just annoying knowing it is no longer PERFECT....

so anything that helps on removing those annoying scratches? (p.s. anything that I can polish stainless steel?)

    thx alot!!

yeah...that's what I am guessing, too....

just worried that exhaust can be so hot sometimes and those chemicals gonna go all weird and have poison smoke? (am I watching too much movies and TV? haha)

so wondering anything that's made for cars only or I can just use those silver polish?

Well if any poison smoke is created, it can't be any worse than inhaling the gases coming out from the muffler already.

If you scratched the bottom while driving, I'm guessing that those scratches deeper than a polish could get out.

How long have you had it on? I have scratched up mine many times. Its hard to prevent it at times. I slopes at an angle so it will not hit the ground.

you should be fine - i know a few folks who use silver polish on the tailpipe with no problems.

Don't bother trying to polishout the scratches. If you look at all TRD mufflers on people's cars you will find that they are all scratched down there. I scratched the hell out of mine when I had it, and there was nothing that could be done to prevent it. Those scratches are to deep anyway for any polish.

Honestly, I think trying to fix that is a bit ... neurotic, and pointless.
I can understand where you're coming from. Totally, I've been like that with certain things like paint chips and stuff.

But think about it, ... you can't see it, so why go through the trouble?
It will most likely get scratched again. No car is perfect and if it is look at the person. What are they spending most of their time doing? A car is constantly depreciating, and impossible to keep it pristine if you drive it!

If you were going to sell the muffler, then I could see buffing out the scratches.
They are probably deep and would probably need heavy sanding on up to a polish.
