What should I get as my next project car? STUCK!

I've been looking for a project/track/AutoX car for the past couple months. Right now I basically have the following options open to me:

    All cars are manual trans.

1991 MR2 Turbo. Has a few interior and exterior imprefections, slight oil leakage, and will possibly need new ball joints. Missing air-bag (the cover on the steering wheel is in place, the airbag cavity filled in) A little over 100k miles. Minimal rust, and runs strong. $4k

1991 240sx coupe. Has a KA engine in it, not running (bad injectors or MAF). Aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket steering wheel, LSD, painted flat black :)-P). 100+k miles. Cali car, so no rust what so ever (rare in Michigan). Interior has some trim pieces missing. $1k

1992 240sx. 80k. Super clean. New clutch. No mods ever done to it. $3k

1986 AE86 GTS Coupe. Runs well. 141k miles. Some surface rust, and exterior in not too great of shape (trim pieces missing, lotta primered spots...etc). LSD, suspension mods, and wheels/tires. $2500.

I'm kinda stuck here... I can see lots of pro's and cons for getting any of the above cars, and kind of leaning towards the MR2... but I can't quite make a decision. Give me some feedback :)

Yeah, I've seen that one. I honestly don't like the way they look very much, but they're awesome cars, the 3S-GTE kicks ass no matter what it's in! I'd turn it into a rally car if I wasn't 100% sure of killing myself in a high speed encounter with a tree.

I'll pick the MR2 turbo. It's only $4k!!! MR2 mkII is so freaking expensive in Vancouver (around CDN$14k to 20k+). :p

the mr2 looks to have been in a major accident since it's missing it's airbag. you should have it thoroughly inspected.

i say the 92 nissan 240. its only 3k and they are reall easy cars to find parts for. i also belive that the 91 to 92 motor when from single cam to double but i might be wrong about that one. but a flawless 240 with 80k miles is a good price at 3k jmo....

I would go with the '92 240 as well. I love MR2's, especially after riding in hookedup96rolla's, but it's a MR car, so once it starts to slide, it's not going to stop. I'd be afraid of spinning it and getting broadsided by a tree. Not that I'm a huge drift fan or anything, but what fun is RWD car if you can't slide the tail out every once and then?
