So I will be instaling my custom turbo, I have basically all the parts ready but have one question about the exaust system. What size of piping should I use, 2 1/4" or 2 1/5"? Should I lose the catalyc converter and the resonator? or just the catalyc converter? I am planning on boosting no more than 8psi.

im preparin my car for turbo in the fall as well, i got a 2.5" piping from the cat back, u pretty much have to leave the cat in place cuz of the O2 sensor, i cut off the resonator but i got a cherry bomb in place of it, i think im gonna have it redone tho cuz there are way too many welds in the piping.

many of the people I know who go caless use a "cell fix" resistor added to one of the wires on the 02 sensor and haven't had any problems.. or you could go high flow

but that just prevents the CEL from comin on, it would basically make the 02 sensor non functional wouldnt it?

The secondary o2 sensor after the cat is only for emission purposes. It's the primary o2 sensor on the exhaust manafold that plays a part in engine management.

hmm, so u mean i can take that out completely and use that existing hole for my egt gauge probe instead?

nah, it installs inline on the wires to your o2 sensor

as for the EGT sesnor, it really should be installed as close to the engine as possible to get the most accurate reading.. I believe most honda guys install it on the 3rd runner on the manafold.

ahh.. don't you just love the smell of a catless exhaust? Also you should get a external wastegate and just do a dump pipe

Go with the 2 1/5" pipe. Its a very common size, ask for it and accept no substitute wherever you go to get it done. Call anyone an idiot whos never heard of this size, its common for amateur to mistake it for 2 1/4" or 2 3/8". Also know that 2 1/5" is the choice of professionals everywhere
