Wow, VIS hoods are strong... unfortunately, my windshield is smashed in...

Well, in a rush to finish testing out the eManage settings for my new 550cc injectors, I didn't notice that my friend didn't close my hood all the way (he must have been distracted when he closed it). We had had a hecktic day and I had just finished tossing stuff back into my car since I had to rip out all the interior panels to access the ECU because of a bad ground. Long story short, I was in the car the entire time, so I never noticed the hood wasn't all the way shut until I was making my final test run settings. The hood flipped open and smashed the windshield. The raised vent made two dents in the roof of the car. The hood otherwise was fine except for 4 cracks where it hit the car.

At least I have my injectors in and working as well as the intercooler mounted (still waiting on couplers from Samco). It looks bad ass.

Still auto and staying that way. It'll be nice to not loose boost between shifts. As for the hood... my friend over compensated for my anal retentiveness and didn't close it all the way, figuring I would want to put the carbon fiber engine cover back on. The only problem was that he then left and didn't say anything to me about it.

I dunno what I'm going to do. I have it raised up more than normal using custom fabricated brackets (e.g. bent aluminum with holes and bolts). I may try to raise it higher. I would remove it, but I don't want to risk getting a ticket as well.

I have a high stall TC, a tranny cooler installed, and a shift kit meant to handle turbo power sitting in my closet.

So will you be getting a new hood? I saw you asking in another thread about cost because yours kissed your windshield. And if you do, how much?

Hood pins wouldn't have made a difference since it wasn't closed at all and I couldn't tell it wasn't closed since I was sitting in the car.

derrick, it always seems to me that the weirdest bad shit happens to your car. nothing really goes bad with your mods, but it's always little things that get you.

If the bodyshop/insurance company lets me keep it, I already have someone local that was interested.
