    Help make RacingSolution.Com Better!

Hey everyone.. I've been around on these Corolla boards for over 4 years, and over 2 years as Racing Solution... Our website has been the same for those 2 years and we want to make it better. We figured the best way to do that is to ask our customers and community members their opinion on how we can do just that.

We're looking for feedback on how easy the site is to navigate.. What you think of the look.. Could we benefit from a different style of navigation (i.e. more images, more specific categories such as Bodykits, Hoods, Spoilers, etc, etc) ..

Any features that you as the consumer would find helpful when making decisions on purchases?

Stuff like that. All feedback is appreciated, good or bad.

i would def change the color that white and blue... to something else something brighter then that... also you should have discount codes for members of all the boards you belong to so when they buy something it gives them incentive to come back again...

Center column on your homepage needs to be something like 90% width and not 70% or whatever you got it at. That or put a wallpaper in there or something so it's not so akward to look at.

Thumbnails aren't properly displaying your images. If you're going to use square thumbnails, crop the image square and then resize it. It will use slightly more storage space, but people will be able to see what they're getting from the thumbnail.

Go with a graphical top menu bar, try Fireworks.

Your databasing is fucked up. For example, when I search for my car (98' Toyota Camry it gives me Cavalier side squirts as my exterior purchase option.

Try a theme (or make your own) for your message board and change the logo from the default phpBB.

I would reorder your top menu bar so things like Contact and such are at the very end where people expect to find it.

In Firefox you get a bottom scroll bar.

On your homepage... center your active topics with everything else and ditch the full dark grey background. Stay consistent.

Have someone on this board or elsewhere photoshop for you. The Scion image at the bottom doesn't look like someone with experience made it. Also I would have used the same background as the frame you were putting the image into. That or put a border around it.

I guess I could sit here forever and nitpick things, overall the site is pretty good. If you're looking to increase sales the best thing you can really do is spend time promoting your site.

The site is very not user friendly.
Let's say when you want to go "Shop by category" -> "Exterior". You select "Toyota" and "2001". Then it will go to the other page to select "Corolla". THEN, if you want to check out "Interior". You have to go via the whole "Toyota" "2001" "corolla" all over again!!! It's just pain in the @ss. And there is no go back to just select different car like JUST select "celica", you have to go via the whole pain again.

Check out http://www.nopionline.com, the system they're using are very good and user friendly.

For people that are on backorder items (such as myself) drop a phone call to make the customer/seller relationship a bit more personal so that we dont feel that our money is floating around in cyber space somewhere. I only say this because email is sometimes not checked for 2-3 days on everyone's end and when someone is looking for a quick checkup on how their money for a paid item is being handled usually a semi-instant response is usually preferred.

P.S. - This doesn't have anything to do with my backorder TOMs rear lip piece as i have full confidence in the product being delivered soon. This is merely a suggestion to assure others that may not already know that you are a reputable seller on these forums.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.. We've already begun making changes.. first up was the navigation.. We finally finished the "location tree" .. this allows you to easily take one step back in the navigation without having to click everything over again..

We cleaned up the main page a little.

We also implemented the image navigation that we had on the back burner for about 6+ months..

Keep the comments coming. We appreciate it.

Make sure there is an image for every product.

Break cars up not just by Make, but also by Year.

you should have like a 3d view of the car like 360 degree where u can rotate the car and see what the product looks like on the car

    just took a look through..

for the number of parts you have it seems oddly organized

    current structure: category>make>year>model

    what might work better is:

    category>make>model>year*

*most products already have the years listed and narrowing by year becomes redundant. but if you had enough products it might be necessary

Hm... Maybe if you put a line of text in the invoice, or online during the checkout. Ask the customer to send in their photo. Or maybe have a section on your website for that...

Haven't been to your site in a while... Just quickly browsed it, didn't go in depth like before.

    1. Your thumbnails should be just that, a thumbnail... not the actual image resized. Wastes your bandwith and isn't very freindly. Square your images off in photoshop and make the thumbnail off that square image. You're gonna have to crop some, but the images like ackward they way they are now.

    2. You're still getting a bottom scroll bar in Firefox. You can set it so that it won't display the scroll bar in your coding or resize.

    3. Your background image is peaking through the sides and looks a bit wierd. I suggest making the center column's background transparent or ditching that original background. Again wasting bandwith, not friendly and looks out of place.

    4. Small thing, but your views is centered based off the side image so it's all over depending on the post and doesn't line up. If you want to display the amount of times it was viewed to the public I'd suggest lining it all up so it looks uniform.

    5. Your left column is very narrow. I'd throw it out some and increase your text size.

    6. Again, I'd go with a graphical top menu bar.

    7. Your Message Board active topics should be centered.

Huge improvements on the graphics overall. Good job.
Your message board is still very boring and bland. Check out the phpBB site and throw a template or something on there.

    what jajae said plus more
the menu bar needs to be more visible.
the width of the blue 1st top left (search) box needs to be as wide as the one below
the 3rd bottom left blue box is empty? i cant see anything
the main page is to lenghty. the main page is just that. A MAIN PAGE.
nothing more. Later on they drill down.
you should not list all the stuff you have for sale on the index page.
You apparently have the space to create a page named racingsolutions.com/OurProject
thats where you put the Scion TC project deal and dont link to a stupic cardomain page. Not very professional.
are you getting paid from the banner: YourCobalt.com? if not take it off..and other small things as well that i am not going into detail.
