Window trim wearing off

    Window trim wearing off

    Hey, on my 00 Prizm, the black rubbery coating on the trim at the bottom of the rear windows is wearing off, so there is some silver metal showing through. The passenger side is pretty bad, the drivers is all cracked too but not gone yet. where can I get replacement trim, and is it possible to replace those strips? My car is all black, so it shows up pretty bad.

    I've had the same problem on both a 95 corolla and a 99 prizm. I just went to a junk yard pulled them off. I took them home cleaned them up and clear coated them. I haven't had any problems. NOTE: If you clear too thick it will crack because it's not too flexible.
