    Need help wiring up my amp to stock unit!!

    Hey guys,

    I have my amp and my speaker box ready and I have an amp wiring kit as well as a line out converter. I need to know how to wire up the stock headunit to the line out converter. (what wires go where) I was going to replace the headunit but trying to buy a house and really don't want to let people see a nioce headunit in the car....Please hel pthe car needs some thump......

    oh yes the car is an 04 and it has the cd/tape deck in it, I need to know what wires are what coming out of the rear so I can splice into them.......Thanks

    what kind of line out converter did you get?

    most of the ones i used had 2 pairs of speaker connections which i connected to the rear speakers. just splice the speaker wires for the rears, and connect it to there.

    IT's a scoshe converter. I can tap into the rear speakers? I had the same set up on my old ranger but used the wires out of the rear of the stereo. Also what color is the turn on for the ignition?

    The yellow wire is the ignition turn on.

    i set up an amp with two subs to my stock radio by using converter to the back speakers. no need to slice anything, speakers conveniently reachable through trunk so i jsut hooked wires onto speaker prongs and then remote wire i just connected to DRLs or some other fuse in fusebox under front dash, i cant remember, but needless to say i didnt touch my radio in the whole process and it sounds great.
