the only thing thats makes me think its an aftermarket is that the headliner dosn't stay up(it sags down like its just hangin) and the 12v wire to make it open/close is tied into my wiper fuse in the fuse panel

I think it is aftermarket. You only have a dx, just look at those black door handles and side molding. It's not the top trim and that's why I think it didnt come with the sunroof stock. If I remember correctly, the sunroof only available for CE.

actually Lazkay, the DX was the top of the line, CE was bottom of the line for AE101/102's. DX had the color matched moulding and door handles.

DX is in the middle, CE is the highest one, i believe it came with the spoiler standard too...i think the bottom of the line one had no trim level, it was just a corolla, lol

anyway, heres the pics of the switch and the cover...

gotarheels03, just look at Rolla95's sig. He has a 95 dx. And it is the top of the line, the why it has all those black side moldings and door handles.

And Im pretty sure that the CE is higher than DX cuz before I buy my 00VE, I test drove a 97 CE and it has sunroof and color matched body parts. And Im so agree with Rolla95 the CE is the highest, then DX, the nothing is the lowest.

Rolla95, after looking at the switch. I think it is aftermarket. That looks just like one of my friend's car's sunroof switch.

Let me guess, when you push it once, it opens all the way right?? When you holding the button, when you relase it, it stops right there right??

i hold the buttom if pops up but if keep holdin the button it will go all the way back without releasin the button...either way, if it is aftermarket whoever installed it did a damn good job because it dosn't leak or anything, and best of all, it still works...i just wanna buy a visor for the front of it

I love my moon roof, when it works. I need to get the motor replaced before summer hits so I can enjoy my sunshine... Oh yeah, mine's was a dealer installed option (DX) and came fom an aftermarket company and it slides into the roof when open.

Its an aftermarket one. I got a sunroof on my DX. I also think the DX is the middle one not the top of the line, but when my family got my car it was at the showroom floor with almost every option. Only option missing was abs, spoiler, and cruise control. I can make my sunroof tilt or slide back.

My 97 has no trim level :( . Manual locks and windows, no side moldings on the doors, no rear speakers, rear seats dont fold down, no spoiler, no black vinyl around the windows, unpainted door handles and mirrors, and no tilt steering, but somehow I DO have cruise control... Aftermarket maybe?
