I've been considering a bike for a little bit now. Many of my friends who have bikes are telling me to start w/ a 500, and that you'd outgrow the 250 real fast.

    Getting a sport bike

    Hey Guys!
Well I'm thinking of getting a bike. I've always wanted one. Well, I've talked to some friends and I think I'm going to stick with 250cc or around there. People tell me starting out at that is a good idea for a beginner. So my question is, anyone know any good 250cc bikes that run good, and look good, and won't cost me a crap load?

    Thanks a bunch guys

    brad

*edit* Maybe a Kawasaki 500R? I know it is 500cc.

opposite here in FL - dry season is over - time for the 'rain every afternoon' summer time. but i still wanna get a bike

and depending on how big you are - a 250cc is REALLY small. That's the largest size of dirt-bike FYI. A 500 is a good starting bike - smaller than that you'll get bored real quick, bigger than that - you'll prob kill yourself lol

How is a bike going to prevent you from hitting the traffic?

Look into insurance BEFORE you buy a bike...many jump in before finding out that they cant afford the insurance.

And a 250 is a good beginner bike...but you may grow out of it quickly.
