Drill out the rivets and get a speaker mounting kit for the new ones.

    98 rolla stock speaker swap....help.

i'm trying to swap my factory front speakers out and put some aftermarket components in, but i ran into a problem. i noticed that the front stock speakers are mounted on a metal bracket and there are no screws where i can unscrew the speaker. The other problem that i noticed is that the bracket that the speaker is mounted to, doesn't have screw either to take it off the door.

how do i approach this issue? i could try prying off the bracket, but i'm scared to break anything.

    can some1 help????

I drilled mine out, and replaced them with 6.5's. They'll fit the hole almost perfectly. Otherwise, you can custom make a mounting bracket, or i'm sure if you search around someone will make one for it.

what if i cut out the old speaker, and dremel the old backet out, and mount a 6.5" on the existing bracket....will that work?

Dremel the rivet out. Either chop the top or drill through it. It'll be kinda fun, in a wierd kinda way.
