Where to get 01-02 lip & sideskirts...

    Bunch of questions...

Does anyone know of any online stores that sell 01-02 TRD lip kit and sideskirts? How much do they go for usually?
Has anyone used a lip kit from another vehicle that would fit?

I believe http://www.toyotapartsoutlet.com can get them from you - they're a toyota dealer out in... NC?, I bought my TRD exhaust from them. The order will take a while because they have to order the parts from TRD, and they're not entirely smart about shipping. I ordered my muffler, they ordered the part from TRD in Cali, had it shipped out to them in NC, then back out to me in Cali.

Since they're new pieces, and they're from a dealer, they're gonna be expensive. I think each piece runs about 150-200 each. Molly Designs manufactures the complete TRD kit for the 01-02 corolla, but their site is down right now (http://www.mollydesigns.com). I think your best bet however is to keep your eye on ebay for someone selling their TRD kit or one made by Molly. I'm still looking for used 1998-2000 Front Lips myself.

Yeah I called the local Toyota dealership and they said it was $1400 for the 7 peice kit. Forget that. I can get a full body kit with twice as much urethane for half of that. <br />

    Thanks for the information.

I'd ask around and do some ebaying - i put together my TRD kit, not including the front lips, collectively for about 250. Except I need to pay about 350 to get them painted.

Thats not bad for the kit... When I get mine I am definatly going to paint them myself. I just can't justify $350 for that little amount of painting. I know thats probably a decent price. But still. I will take the time to learn and do it myself and gain experience.

I decided to get it painted after painting myself. I made body repairs and did automotive finishes on computer cases (yeah, i'm a geek), and it turned out really well, but it involved A LOT of work, a LOT of sanding, and a lot of patience. And those were relatively flat surfaces. It's just too difficult to paint a body kit yourself unless you've already got a good compressor, spray gun, paint, and a dust/link free baking room.

Let me know if you later decide to go the rattlecan route, i can give you some tips on getting the mirror finish going - but be forewarned, it's going to be four times as difficult as you think it'll be, and then some, and getting that much custom matched paint is expensive.
