    HID kits from XEquipped.com

I was looking at the HID kits on XEquipped.com, and was curious if anyone had any experience with them or was familiar with the LONTA / JSM brand ballasts.

I have their H4 kit and it is pretty damn good. Easy install...bright lights. I think to bright though. I need to get projectors so it doesn't get to much glare.

Sweet, that works. I just ordered their 4300 kit, so there should be no glare. What kit do you have?

if u have pics of the ballast then i can tell u if they are good or not... but just by lookin at it... its not good.

only serveral companies make good hit kits...

their best ones cost 350 shipped... might as well spend a few more bills and go with a oem projector kit... even brighter, wider and much more even beam?

the only after market 9006 kits that i would recommend are the hellas and osram ballast... with either philips bulbs or osram bulbs. everything else will not last as long... or will have problems in the future.

look for things such as... completely sealed ballasts... and oem bulbs... compact size and metal housing with heatsinks built in...

beaware of plastic ballasts and non sealed ballasts... u do not know how many ppl have problems with those... and modified/rebased bulbs... many aftermarket manuf. do that... and it greatly reduces the quality of their so called "kit"

thats how it will look like...

Well, i went ahead and ordered the kit anyway. Dragonhunter seems to like his and the previous buyers of this kit liked theirs. Plus, it has a 1 year warranty on the bulbs and ballasts. I had thought about modding the headlight, but considering I'm on my third set now (from people backing up into me), I'de rather not waste the effort on that.

Extremely easy to do it. I kinda stood there for a minute thinking I didn't do it right because it only took me like 10 minutes total time. :D It's just like vamp said unplug the stocks and then plug these in...you also have to change your 10a fuses for the headlights for 20a ones just to be on the safer side.

They're pretty easy to install. Just unplug and remove your stock bulbs, plug the harness into the ballast, and install the new bulbs in the housing.

Why would you have to change our your fuse? HID bulbs use like 1/2 the power of stock halogens... That sounds fishy :)

Wow, I was going to do an HID retro but I may just go this route to save time and money, Can you post some pics of the projection from the drivers POV at night and daytime? I just want to see how distorted the beam is.

    Thanks,
    Jerry

You have to change the fuse because the initial draw to ignite the bulbs is high. I think it's 20,000V to ignite the bulbs and 85V to keep them lit.

But I read on their site that they use McCulloch kits. And the iste also said that the 4300k will eventually yellow like OEM ones, and the the 5000/5300k is preferred. Anyone can spill some light on this?
