Whinning Noise in Rear Brake HELP!

Does anyone know what is causing Whinning noise from the rear brake in my 99ce. It makes the sound even when the car is park but still running. Is it because of the anti-rattle clip is loose or something else. Please help thank you.

Could just be stuck brake shoes - no anti-rattle clip there (rears are drums). Are you sure it is the brakes that are making the noise? - lots of 8th generation Corollas had weird noises coming from the rear suspension (bushings, strut mounts, springs) or parts of the exhaust touching the body. Do you have OEM steel wheels or aftermarket alloys - make sure they are torqued correctly - not too tight or too loose. You can remove the drum and see if rust and debris has worked its way in there - could be contamination of the brake lining or rust touching the outer backing plate.

    Good Luck.
