I got a new car... *G* *56K WARNING*

I totalled my Spec V on christmas day. I'm still mourning over it, it was a nice, fun car. I will deeply miss my V... *CRY*

I just bought the 04 Mazdaspeed Miata (MSM) today, came with carpet mats ($60), headlight and taillight bezels ($240), wheel locks ($31), cargo net ($20). $19,700 with tax, title, and FL doc fee.

I absolutely love this car. It's quick, and handles great. I'm still in process of breaking it in. It's going to be my commuter and autox/fun car. Interior is really nice, some plastic but doesn't seem cheap overall. Though I thought the front looks a little too much like RX-8 and the *tiny* FMIC is a joke.

Here is the pics... what do you guys think? ^_^
thanks all, I don't regret getting this car. i was on my way back from work just now and pull it up to 4,000rpm twice, hearing the turbo spooling up is just nothing like it!! gotta love that 'psshhh'!

can't wait to break it in! i never driven a sports car before, but i do get a lot of feel like road, little bumps, cracks... etc. i feel that from my bucket seat and steering wheel. it feels great, but at the same time i think it can get quite a bit annoying. steering is like 20X more precise compared to my V. handles a lot better than my V it feels like... but both car pulls similiar G on skidpad (V .89; MSM .9). i think it's because it's smaller, more compact, lighter and RWD (this is my first RWD car).

this is definitely not a car to take on drives more than 2+hrs, for me it'll hurt my lower back. plus i read MSM on highway you can hear 'droning' noise from exhaust that many MSM owners complain about now.

rear is def. very light, i was taking a left turn normally today and the rear just shoots out. I went "WOAH!" ^_^ though it's split 50/50 rear can get loose very easily imo.

now i'm just scared someone would accidently dent my car or scratch it, lol.

dayum..the front resembles an RX7 kinda, and the interior is just perfection, i love black/red interior schemes. But you just got it today and you are already revving it to 4000rpms, i dun think thats too good!!

It's a cool looking car, But I would need Jenny C, Crisco and very large shoe horn to get me in and out of that whip;)

i know i shouldn't be revving that high, but i can't help it. once or twice wouldn't hurt.

the red color stitched steering and shift knob reminds me a lot of my old 02 corolla S. they are very similiar.

the gas and break padel are VERY close to each other. i caught myself once breaking while pressing gas today. hill-toe is very easy, engine do tend to rev very fast for some odd reason (i test drove a used 99 miata it was the same way too). there is no tilt steering (there is no option for it) so i find myself moving seat back quite further in order to do hill-toe so my knee don't hit the steering wheel. cabin is very crammed, but even if you are a 6 footer shouldn't have any problems (i'm 5 10).

the bypass valve on the MSM is *plastic*, i'm going to get a real BOV that's made out of metal soon. some MSM people already feel better throttle response from replacing it with a real BOV. not to mention the nice 'chuuuuuii' sound that comes with it.

yea, they are about 24,000-25,000 after the current rebates right now. i think dealership made a mistake and sold it to me as a regular miata, it's possible that they try to get rid of the 04s... who knows. they have a brand new 05 'regular' miata in showroom with almost exactly the same options as my MSM but with leather for $28,400!

yea, the torque steer is gone, but i also miss it as well. that was one of the things made the V so much fun lol.

I see the fuel door is on the top of the quarter panel. How easy is it to put gas in and not spill?

Thats really cool, I never thought of the miata as such a nice car. If it were me I'd take the headlight bezels off.

i'm not sure about the spill yet, i only have 53 miles right now (just got back from work) and gas gauge still over the F. yea, now you have me kind of worried about that... but i'll keep you updated on that.

they had another red one at the dealership as well w/o the headlight bezel... i like it with the bezel better. looks mean-er.

i'm going to go to a local autocross this upcoming sunday, just watch to see how the locals do. maybe i am able to meet some miata fans as well. i'll take some pictures!
