    polised lip

i just got a set of gold wheels with a polished lip, does the lip have any protection at all,(clear coat etc) and whats the best way to keep them shiny?

ive heard of some lips that rust if theyre not thoroughly cleaned daily

I used to have a polished lip and it never rusted...I used this stuff called "Blue Stuff" I think that was the name of it...or was it blue streak??? I dunno...but it's blue. It leaves a thin silicone layer over the lip and does a good job at keeping it clean...when I get home I'll tell ya the name of the stuff :D

yeah you dont have to worry about rust. i collected alot of brake dust and thats the piece thats most likely going to get curb rash.

most tuner style rims come with clear coat on the polished lips.

there are some rims that have no protection so you need to take care.

you are best spraying clearcoat from a paint can. use the good stuff. probably high temp clear coat is best.
