Pissed off at Walmart for not letting me get an oil change!

I've been getting oil changes at Wal-mart for quite some time now. No problems here. I always get the synthetic oil change and choose Mobile-1 synthetic for my oil. Quick, "cheap", and convenient, no doubt about it.

However, back when I had chrome rims, during one time when I was getting an oil change at the Wal-mart, I had requested my tires to be rotated. They told me that they wouldn't remove the chrome wheels for fear of scratching them...

places around here jack up my car with hydraulic jacks all the time. just put wood blocks on the damn thing so it grabs higher.<br />

Man did I have a bad day today. I had to wait for a train for more then 15 minutes, but thats not made my day bad. No its Walmart. I've been changing my oil at Walmart for like more than 2 years now cause it's convenient and cheap. Well for some reason today they started bitchin at me that my car is too low and they can't work on it. I was like I've been going here for a long time now and my car was like this the last time I was here. It's really stupid for saying that my car is too low when they just have those drive through thing where the mechanic is underground working on the car and the railing is like 2.5 inches tall. So they try to see if my car would go through and he stops halfway. I'm like see the car clears the railing thing. And this old guy, supposedly the head guy, says it barely clears it and is still too low. They back the car up and say they can't work on it. Man was I pissed. I even had to wait at the line for like 12 minutes or more. I dunno if any of you have experience this, but this thing is really pissing me off. I just spent an hour evenly raising the car up like 1.5- 2&quot;. I'm gonna go back tommorrow and they better work on my car or I'm gonna do something about this crap. Has anyone with a lowered car experience this?

Woah thats horse shit. I say you call there HR department and say the old guy wanted you to give him a hand job behind the shop and when you refused he said "Get your oil change somewhere else junior" and then you ran away crying and you now feel that you should be compensated for this incident Just kidding. But go back and rage like hell and make a scene.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. When I had a leak in my flex pipe no one would work on it. There isn't any shops in my town with a pit that will do exhaust work and no one thought they could get it onto a lift. So I do everything the old fashion way, scissors jack fits under my side skirts but a hydraulic jack wont which is just another pain. Unfortunately my stupid painter used pop rivits to attach my side skirts so until he gets time to take them out they're not even removable.

My buddy went there and they never even changed the oil filter, but they sure as hell torqued down that drain plug, I had my breaker bar and then a 2 foot extenstion on that then started hit the extenstion with a 5 lb mallet and it still didnt want to budge. I ended having to cut the head off the bolt them rethreading the hole.

Yea, I also put a 400lb I think Air Gun on it as well.

Needless to say I had to charge him for some labor.

Yeah the place where i get my alignment done are really weary of working on my car because it barely clears the ramp. but i kinda understand because if anything breaks it there fault.

this is exactly why i dont go to these run of the mill garages. just go to ones that sell aftermarket parts. they usually dont bitch about lowered cars when they themselves sell lowering springs.

NTB said that they will do a ailgnment but I have to sign a waiver, cause of my exhaust.

walmart wouldn't put my rims on my car...they said they would rub...yeah, maybe if i got truck tires on them. they were like, 15&quot; rims are an inch bigger than stock, we can't do it. so i went accross the street to firestone and they did a great job

If you drive the car onto wooden planks it will lift it up enough to get a jack under there. That's what we did at a shop where I worked for my senior project. It's not hard to jack a lowered car, people who don't like lowered cars just give you a hard time.

how can u even trust a place like walmart to change ur oil. how do u even kno they are actually doing anything?

I got my oild change finally! I went back and different people were there and they were really nice guys so I really couldn't treat them bad. I had to go to another walmart though cause the wait was more then 3 hours and the lot was full. I still don't get why they didn't let my car in last time cause it's not one of those lifts or jacks stands or anything. Its just one where the car does not leave teh ground and drive over what looks like tiny railroads no taller then 2 inches. But oh well I'm fine about it now cause it was cheap and didn't take long at this different location. Next time I'll ask them first if they can work on the car so this won't happen again. I raised up the car about 2 inches so there was more clearance. Ya I should change my own oil, but I really hate going under the car just to change oil and have the hassle to drain it and take it to a site to through out toxic liquids or w/e. Until I get my engine swap I'll still stick to cheap walmart, but I'll be now weary of getting my car worked on.

Shops close down when I pull up

here in huntsville practically nobody wants to do anything to my car... be it rotating tires changing struts changing oil servicing engine etc.

i'm used to it. i think meineke does stuff sometimes though

I guess shops these days are against lowered cars or anti-import or something. I'm just glad I got coilovers to adjust the damands of the road and mechanics that does not want to work on my car.

it's all about liability. if the shop thinks your car is too low then they have every right to refuse service to you

Ya your right about that. I was thinking the same thing when I was raising up my car. The thing was actually really low and I barely got my stock jacks under it. I guess they're really careful with their liability of working on cars like mine cause probably they don't want us to make money of them and &quot;rice&quot; out our cars more.

what u can do is just get some thick lumber from home depot and then nail them up together to act as a ramp. u need the lumber to be as wide as your tires, nail a few pieces together, enuf so that your jack can get under. cut the ends so they're like ramps... then your car can drive up these things. this is what i do for my car/van. my vehicles are not lowered but instead of jacking them up, this is what i do. drive up onto these home made wood ramps, just high enough for my body to slide under and the oil pan to slide under.
