    Horrible Tires

The hankock Radial K106's suck ass. I blew 2 of them in just 3 months on potholes. Do you all have any other suggestions for a 205/40/17 tire that lasts a while? im gonna change all of them. cost should be between 80-130. the problem with the radials is that the 17's require a smaller sidewall. in this case, TOO small. i've heard some tires that have additional rubber on the sidewall to prevent them from blowing. should i go with pirellis or BFGs?

Pirellis and BFG's are great tires man. IMO I'd get Kumho tires for there great performance and value or one of the best IMO toyo tires. I've used Kumho tires and I had no problem with them. For how cheap they are they were one of my best gripping tires for wet and dry that I've used.

dude, get some mastercraft tires, haha, they don't give you any grip and they love to rip, on the sidewalls that is. yeah, go with some pirelli's or some bridgestones or something expensive, and get that damn service plan with them

You know what they say about you get what you paid for. But seriously - Kuhmo and Toyo are probably the best for the price. Yokohama tires have a really heavy sidewall - they run a bit more, but their tire carcass is really well made - heavy duty almost. As long as the tire has some type of "rim" protector - that may help with the durability (more rubber on the sidewall). But with a 40 series tire, you don't have a whole lot of cushion there - good sized potholes will pop that low profile of a tire.

    Good Luck.

i got a set of Dunlop tires located here:
    http://www.dunloptire.com/dunlop/di...17&sidewall=BSW
i had to hurry because i have school and i hate riding the bus and carpooling. i hope these are okay for some potholes. they have a rim protector so im guessing it'll last sometime longer. thanks though, after i wear these out im buying a new set for the fronts alone, since they take the most abuse.....prolly the Kumho's or the yokohamas.

okay. i told my dad to get 2 dunlops, one for each side, but he got one :p so now the car's alignment is all out of whack. i don't really mind, but will it shorten tire life and rim life? :-\ im not sure what i should do, when i kick the gas, it always wants to sway to the right a little (the new tire is on front right)

tires also blow easier when they are underinflated. make sure u have the correct pressure along with a good tire.

i think the dunlop could be underinflated, but coming out of the best goodyear shop in louisville, i don't know if htats the case.
