    Dynamat rear deck good idea?

Is it a good idea to dynamat the rear deck for my new speakers or leave them as is? I dynamat my fronts and it got rid of the rattles and distortion but I don't want to do the rears because I have a 10" Basslink subwoofer sitting in my trunk and I fear that if I dynamat the rear I will not have bass coming in the cabin. You know how Dynamat is a sound blocker and all that.....

    What does everyone think?

If you're worried about bass being blocked, then take out your rear seat! :)

Seriously though, if you got it, pull down the rear seat trunk access and leave it open.

Otherwise dynamat the deck, it's not going to block the sound.
It's not like your dynamating the back of the rear seat....

Dynamat original, and extreme doesn't block sound, it just deadens it. It gives weight to the sheet metal so it doesn't vibrate as much.

I would definatly do the rear deck, it can only quiet the vibrating and rattling.

Everybody has good points here - adding Dynamat or similar deadening materials will lower your noise floor - will make the music (highs and lows) come through clearer and reduce or stop rattling, vibrations, etc. Unless you like the rattling - then just leave the deck as is. Doesn't block any bass - just change the natural resonant frequency of the body panel that you apply it to.

I don't think it would hurt anything. Especially if you have an exhaust it will just make it quieter inside the cabin.
