If theres frame damage, it will most likely be totaled. Actually....looks like the frame may been spared...

    Crash Yesterday <pics>

For Sale, like new, very little damage.... $15,000 o.b.o. (hahahah, just a joke, not in the wrong topic.)

Anyone here think that my insurance company will want to try to have it fixed? The engine is shifted back about 18" and it looks like besides the engine cover being in 8 pieces, the headers were ripped from the side of the engine. There's almost no evidence that I even HAD headlights...

It was raining really hard and I just couldn't stop. Only doing about 20mph when we hit. Unfortunately it was a large pickup truck and his bumper complete missed mine. The engine had to take the brunt (is that a word?) of the force.

Blue book has it listed as Private Party for $10,600. Dealer pricing would be more like $13,300. Anyone here know which pricing insurance companies try to use when they total a car?

Of course I'd love to know what you all think I should replace it with? I was thinking about looking at the Scion tC. (I had been wishing that I got manual tranny on my '03 S (pictured above)) What do you all think?

If there's engine damage the car will most likely be damaged too

All depends....was the engine pushed up into the firewall? Did any engine mounts break? Any suspension damage?

And looks like the airbags did not deploy. I betcha the insurance company will fix that.

And wrecking your car can be a traumatic experience, but thats what insurance is for. Ya shouldnt have to pay anything except your deductible.

They also base if they will fix it or not on value of car vs. price of repair.

Basically if the cost of repair equals to a certain percentage or higher they will not repair it, even if the car is repairable.

I think it's around 40% of the value of the car. Then again, it may be a little over 50%.

you can fix it, its only if the cost of repairing your vehicle is most then a certain percent....then it's total, but until you have an estimate done, there is no way to tell!

they can still fix it if they want to. my bro's sienna van got rear ended by a full size dodge ram 2 months ago. it was so bad i thought it's gonna get written off. the right rear got pushed all the way into the back seat! total damage was over C$10,000 and insurance still fixed it. the shop cut off part of the roof, side rear panel, put in new bumper, new hatch, etc.

damn that hood just crumpled like paper, i dont think anyone will be able to fix it, or rather want to fix it, regardless of what people say out here its not going to happen. besides if they even were to, i wouldnt want to keep it. it would probably never run the same again. that is going to be alot of work to repair. wow im glad your okay man that looked brutal

OUCH!!! good thing you were ok... normally in where i live, the insurance would fix that, but not in the mainland... you could go for a manual...

Yeah, but it doesnt look like its too much frame damage.....

new engine components, new headlights, new fenders, new front bumper...probably going to fix it. Depending on what your insurance company is.
