Need some opinions on two rims I'm looking at...

Well first off, Psycho Child is currenty riding on my Rota's as he's trying to decide if he wants to buy them or not, so I'm riding on his 17"s. Now that I have softer suspension in, the ride on 17"s doesn't seem as bad as it used to, so I may end up sizing back up to them after I finish testing them out over the next few days.

FYI: The above rims are for sale. Contact Psycho Child about them.

Anyway, if I end up getting 17" rims, the two that I'm thinking about are either the MB Motoring Rev's (with Continental Extreme Contact tires), which are BMW Hamman replicas and sort of resemble the wheels on the IS-430 or the Sport Max 050's (with Toyo Proxes FZ-4), which are nice, clean looking wheels that I think would compliment the style that I'm trying to do. I know the MB Motoring is fairly decent quality, but I don't know how good the Sport Max wheels are. Any opinions or info that could help me make a decision.

well...i nkow you wanted to avoid rivets...so i'd say the latter of the two.

besides...a dish THAT deep - while sexy as hell - just doesn't look right on a FWD car to me.

The Revs are 19 lbs and the Sport Max are guesstimated to be 19 lbs as well. WheelMax doesn't have the weight info for any of thier rims except the Excel lineup.

yeah..rivet wheels, while they CAN look nice(depending on the car), are a bitch and a half to clean.

    the sport max's.

i had wheels with rivets and it was hard to keep up. but, the sport maxs will also be hard to keep up because the neons gram lights are not easy at all to keep the lip clean. so, actually, they'll most likely be the same amount of work, now less spokes is less work unless its mesh and the mesh is hyperblack or gunmetal. the sport max's look 'cleaner'. the mb's have more aggression.

the gram lights arent too hard to keep clean, the trick is to wax the wheels too when u wax the car...it keeps the dust off the wheel and also doesnt let that grimy stuff stay on the wheel.

yes, because the grimeyness loves to get in the lip.

i personally enjoy the rivets because of exactly what you said. It makes it look busy. Because the whole car is pretty much tamed, i think its a good contrast when you throw in a set of wheels with a lot goin on. but then again, everyone has their own oppinion which is why, "to each his own"

Are your rivets plastic or or real metal? Anyway, I don't have any trouble keeping the lip on my Rotas clean. They're always shiney... of course, I do use ceramic brake pads, so that helps a lot.

my revs' rivets are plastic. like tamago said, rivets only real on "real" rims  its only hard to keep clean if u let the dirt build up over months. which i do alot!
