I think Denso Iridium are the best way to go....
I changed mine and improved throtlle response at low rpm a lot.Well mine isn't 03 but a few people here changed them also on 03 and they feel the same thing!

u need to replace your 03 plugs already? how much kms. you got on your car? OEM ones last over 180,000kms. under normal driving.

180,000km for a plug change? Are you serious? Is that documented somewhere? That just seems extreme. I am thinking of adding some nice performance plug wires and thought I might as well chuck some new plugs in while I am at it. I will price the suggested plugs out. Thanks.

I would stick with OEM plugs, and I would also not leave them in there that long.

There are no plug wires on these models they have individual ignitors.

i tell u wat... denso is basically tha stock spark plugs. tha ngk on tha otha hand is really good to have if u have turbo on ur corolla. it would b better to have tha bosch platinum 4+ it will give u about 2-4 hp while ngk would probably give about 1-2 hp

Iridium plugs last 100,000 miles (assuming engine stays in good condition). I removed mine to check my engine compression Friday and the plugs looked pretty much new. Aside from a bit of ashy deposits, they haven't worn at all that I can tell. This is after 50,000 miles, mind you.

BTW, I still have 220 psi on all four cylinders with healthy build-up of compression (rings and valves are in good shape). YAY!

Iridium is more durable and its low resistance allows for fine tip/large gap for better and more dependable spark, and less strain on catalytic... They are recommended by Toyota and replacement is indeed @180000 Kms in owner's manual. You can upgrade to NGK's Iridium IX with ultra-fine center tip and tapered ground electrode for even better performance. NGK# BKR5EIX-11 http://www.ngkspark.com.au/feature_product.html
Club Plug is a great place to get them; http://www.clubplug.net/canada/index.html
If you're looking for a header, ELP has them on sale now for $200; http://www.clubplug.net/canada/index.html
...or you can get a JP ceramic coated header for $350; http://www.jpperformancellc.com/matrixc.html

    plugs

Iridium plugs last 100,000 miles at least... the manual calls for a change of them at 120,000 miles. That's way they cost almost $10. You have a coil over each plug with only thin gage trigger and power wires leading to them. Don't worry and about these as this is today's technology that is no longer a weak point that needs an upgrade.

My 03 Corolla S now has 189,000km on it. I changed the plugs at 100,000km because you will not be able to get them out of the head if you wait till the dealer recommended change at 195,000km. I changed to Denso Iridium at the dealer last time. I will be trying a set of Bosch Platinum 4 plugs next time.

bosch platinum 4 doesnt give you more HP over the bosch platinum. it has more path for the spark to ground it self. if one is mess up it will just jump to the other ground. the iridium plugs are standard on the corolla so why down grade. it produces more power than the platinum 4 because of lower current that is need to spark the plugs. iridium has a lower resistance than the platinum plugs.

holy!! how did u manage to get so much mileage on your 03?
what some people do is remove their plugs and apply those anti-seize compound.

basically all u need for the first 150,000kms is change oil/filter, air filter coolant, brake pads/shoes,tranny fluid<br />
no timing belt to change. plugs supposed to last at least 175,000kms.
