Squeaky calipers?

Squeaky calipers?

I have some question for whomever can answer it...

For about a month now, my brakes have been squeaking whenever i release the brake pedal. sounds like the caliper bolts dont have enought grease on them or something. When i first noticed it, i took the brakes off and regreased the caliper bolts and they slide like a dream but theres still that squeak whenever i RELEASE the brake pedal. I have 3 month old Axxis pads on the front with lots of pad left. What COULD be the problem?

Also, the rears squeak. I have cleaned and adjusted them, and done just about everything. Should I get the drums turned/resurfaced? There are still like half the shoes left on the rears. They are from the factory. I have sanded some of the shoe down to get to some new surface on the shoe, but it still squeaks.

ok- the rears are known to squeek horribly when the have a lack of high temp grease at the 4 or 5 friction points where the pads rub against the back of the drum..a haynes manual will show you exactly wehre the grease needs to be applied- unfortunately, getting to them can be a pain b/c you may have to remove the pads and all the shit that comes with it..., but i found a trick- i used a tooth pick- with some grease on the end- you could also use a tiny brush to stick in those points as well...after i did this- quiet as can be..

anyone know about the fronts???

Usually when you release the brake pedal and it squeaks it means the pads are worn out but that can't be if they're only 3 months old, I'm stumped.

mine squeels not out of break pad squeel just dirt. Arizona = dirt state

i know what ur talking about. but i only get it on the rear passenger side. its when u release and a lil chirp comes out. i only get it on that one though. hit me up if u ever find a solution.

dumb question... Is the pedal squeaking or is it the actual brakes.

My pedal has been squeaking now and then when I release it. I'm not too concerned though, the brakes work fine.

could it possibly have something to do with a slight adherence of the pads to the rotors upon release of the pedal? like a delayed pressure release causing it to squeal? im just making this shit up btw...

i think i may need to turn the front rotors. or get some power slot rotors.

I just ordered some power slots. I'll do a little review once i get the rotors and pads broken in.

it may be not enough lubrication. possibly a problem with the piston getting stuck too.
