Stuck under ice

here in cleveland we had 24in. of snow in 24 hours. i actually couldnt leave me house for 2 days b/c any vehicle would get stuck in my cul-de-sac b/c it wasnt plowed in those 2 days. my car is still encased in snow and ice but i just give it a certain amount of force to break the ice but nothing real hard to damage the car. if the force doesnt work out, just apply a heat source.

It is happening to me. My tank is 90% full right now.

Around where I am we had a snow/ice/freezing rain storm on Dec 23. Lots of accidents, commuter trains and flights were delayed and/or cancelled. The city streetcar (tram) system was completely shut down b/c ice on wires.

I spent at least 20 min after work that day just digging enough ice away so that I can actually see when I'm driving. Now all glass surfaces have been cleared of ice, and the trunk is finally free. Gas door is still stuck.

It may clean up with some effort (by breaking up section at a time) JUST GO EASY !!

I would be careful with either hot water or a hair dryer. The water will re-freeze.

If you can get in and start it, let it run to heat up and it will help break it loose.

The fuel door may be a challenge.

Tonight's party did the trick for me. My host lived at a condo with underground parking in a heated garage. Finally I can gas up, but I've still got 2/3 tank.

i lived in Fort Walton Beach and it snowed, im just saying, it does happen

I would of suggested:

1..take car to open lot
2..attach stick of dynamite to gas tank door
3..light fuse and run like a bat out of hell.

4..watch as the gas tank door opens gently.

dude, fuck the snow...it's pretty much gone melted by now in cleveland here, but that was bullshit, i couldn't get into my car for 2 days. i ended up pouring hot water on the doors just to get them open. there was about a quarter inch of ice covering the car. i've never seen it like this before. then i couldn't move my car, it was stuck on ice.

for the fuel door, grab a friend, one pulls on the release handle, the other pounds on the gas door. it works, you won't dent it

yeh the de icer i would say get a spray bottle of windsheild washer fluid.
