Anywhere from 3-6 *gallons* in my car... You got the right idea by calling it a "caution" light instead of a "warning" light.

*Edited* I meant 3-6 gallons and not miles, so that would equate to a minimum of 90 miles from when the light initially starts to flicker on and off.

Yeah, it's A LOT more than 3-6. There's the time when the light goes on when the gas in your tank is just sliding around and it goes on and off depending on whether you are braking or accelerating or when you're on a decline or incline. Once it turns on for good, it depends what kinda stop and go traffic you're in.

I drove a whole day through town with it on. Forgot my gas card so I just rolled with it. Bad idea cause if I ran empty, I would have been screwed.

12 or 13 gallon tank, I'm pretty sure it'd be AT LEAST 15 miles left with maybe a little more than half a gallon of gas. But that's just estimating. I always let the light go on before I pump. Just get it done so you don't end up on the side of the road walking.

I have heard it is 30, I have gone around 20 no bs. The sensor I think is in the back of the tank so yeah the light goes crazy sometimes.

i try not to let my gas go past 1/4th tank...
i also think the light comes on when you got like 2 gallons left in the car.

figure it out, i got a 12 gallon tank in my rolla and when the light comes on, i filled it to the brim and it only put in 10 gallons and change

i heard you end up with air in your fuel lines if you run all the way to empty and you would need to bleed it out

i thought it was 3 gallons left in the tank when the light turns on. that would translate into 60-80 miles for my 93. ive been stupid too since ive driven several days actually on empty when i didnt have the $. but 2-3 gallons seems to be about right when i fill up.

98-02 Corollas have 13.2 gallon tanks. If I fill up as soon as I see the light, it takes about 10 gallons...so at ~30mpg that's almost a hundred miles...would I risk it, though? No.

I do go 15+ miles with the light on..happens quite often..lol

On my 02 if I fill it up as soon as the light comes on, 10.5 gallons will go in. I've driven it with the light on for atleast 30 miles and filled it up with 12 gallons. I know the tank is 13.x, but it seems like that extra gallon has problems getting through the system.

dont leave your tank down to E or until the light comes on coz it'll start sucking up the dirt at the bottom of your tank. aside from this, u can get stranded in the middle of nowhere.

In my car you have about 2 gallons left. Thought I don't recommend getting this low. With a modified car you can expect the gauges to be a little off.
