well if your CV joints are bad your going to hear a clicking noise when you do moderate to sharp turns. If your getting vibrations at high speeds here are some of the things that may be wrong. If you have aftermarket wheels then do you have Hubcentric Rings, balanced tires, wheels alligned, maybe a rim is bent, tire could have bulges on it. I really think that if your getting vibrations at high speeds you should check those first before considering CV joints.

How do I tell if the inner or outer cv joints are bad? I am getting steering wheel oscillations when acceleration from a stop and getting vibrations at high speed on the highway. I dont really get vibrations when going at around normal city speeds.... 25-45 mph. This is for a 98 corolla btw.

To know that your cv joint are bad, when the cv booth is ripped or sometimes you could feel the car pulling to the driver side.

Yeah - I'm kinda with everyone else here. The axles probably won't produce vibration unless one is bent, which is unlikely. Even if the CV joint(s) were bad, it still probably wouldn't cause any vibrations. I'd look at those tires. Get them balanced.
