Know a good brand of blue 196 bulbs?

I changed my instrument cluster lights (196 bulbs, I believe) to blue ones I picked up from Autozone. They gave a nice deep blue that looked alot like VW clusters for about a week or so. They combination of the blue light and the orange of the needles somehow made the needles appear white, which was pretty cool. Anyway, now, about a month after I installed the bulbs, they've almost faded back to the stock white. Is there a good brand of colored bulbs that won't fade?

polarg makes good bulbs that have the glass colored instead of just paint on them i believe.

Know a good store or site to pick those up?

Dont buy the covers/condoms from the parts store, they are too thick and will block most of the light. # 168 bulbs are brighter and fit the same socket. Some say that LEDs dont disperse the light enough to use in clusters.

I think he means 194. And brands for those lights are irrelevant. If they make an LED that small get that.

I got a pair of polargs still in its package sitting in my room for a year or so if anybody is intrested. also got a pair of PIAA plasma blue.. I need to quit buying expensive bulbs i never goina use.
