This is what I woke up to this morning. We had a mini blizzard, but the Corolla started right up easily and I took her for coffee later in the day when the blizzard died down.

no snow here. not counting on gettin any snow any time soon either lol considering it hasnt snowed here since 1976 and even then none of it accumulated at all haha.

i do kinda miss the snow back in west virginia though... but considering its in the 40s here with a wind chill in the 20s.... that means its prob single digits with a neg. wind chill in my hometown so i dont miss it that much haha

EDIT - got bored and checked - right now its -3 deg with a -20 wind chill in my hometown of beckley, WV. definitely not missing that right now lol its only 48 here

I woke up this morning and I sleep with the windows all closed so no one can see in cause I live on the ground floor and don't like people looking in my bedroom, so that means I can't see out, and I have to rely on the news on the TV to tell me what it looks like outside. This morning I turned on the TV, and all I saw was a lady standing there in about 6 inches of snow talking about how fast it's coming down. I'm laying there, half asleep, with comforters pulled up around me going, "NOOOOOOOOO WAYYYYYYY!!!!! THAT CAN NOT BE TRUE!!!!!" So I wake up a little bit more, and I watch for a few more minutes, and she goes, "This is so and so, reporting to you live from Western Massachusetts."

Gawd I love South FL, never having to worry about waking up to that again!!!! hehehehehehe.

just FYI "black ice" is a stupid term someone made up one day. Ice is clear. On black asphalt.

Black ice isn't really black, but it's so thin and transparent that the dark color of the pavement shows through.

The XRS handles great in the snow...with my Yokohama winter tires. I bought those Yoho's with rims last year for my Celica, and luckily they fit my Corolla fine. The size difference is negligable, they are actually 215/55R15, so the speedo is off a bit, but nothing noticable. So with ABS and Electronic Brake Force Distribution, winter tires and a 6-speed manual tranny the car is very controllable in the winter. It is so far the best car I have ever driven in the snow.
