    Cams

One thing I have noticed with tihs car is the lack of Cams available for this engine. Now I live really close to CROWER and Schneirder Racing Cams so getting a custom cam is no problem.

I would like ot know if there are any members who have either a custom cam or is they actually own a premade and researched production performance cam in their either N/A or forced induced Corolla.

Other things that would be nice to find are larger throttle bodies.

Check out monkeywrenchracing.com, they are currently working on a set of performance cams for the 1zz. They are supposed to be released in January for less than $500.

    I attached something for ya...

i am going to have to get the tech specs on the cam. Seeing the 1ZZ wont rev past 6500 I do not see those cams as a practical street cam with out a reprogramed ECU to raise the rev limiter on this engine.

What are you using to get to 7000? I was thinking about the eManage myself.

i wouldnt think the 1zz is an unpopular motor to tune, i mean you have the MR-S, matrix, and celica that all have 1zz's. i was surprised when i got this car because there was such a high aftermarket for it. i used to drive a subaru Legacy GT before, now try finding an aftermarket for that :)

Try finding TRD performance parts for 98-02, though...they don't offer much.. :(

before i bought this car, I had a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage, try finding parts for that car. The ONLY place to find any and ALL parts is Australia. Now the 4G15 and the 4G93 are very unpopular engines to tune, and believe you and me with a bit of creativity and custom work you can make any engine speak the tune of 500 hp.

I am actually surprised at how little this engine has aftermarket support, seeing as the engine is used in alot of different cars, escpecially the Celica there would be alot more parts on all websites and more store fronts.

i was surprized when i first got this car about the aftermarket for it. i wont lie, i never heard of TRD, or the warrentys that their parts carry... try asking for factory warrented parts from NISMO or STI haha
