removing emblems

    Use a heatgun to soften up the adheasive, then slide some fishing line between the car and emblem to seperate it. If you want to put it back on, 3M makes emblem tape.

    removing emblems

    how do you remove the emblems.. im asuming you jsut pry them off.. is there a resedue there? i was thinking of either going for nothing on the trunk or maybe just like one emblem.. but i dont plan to paint my car so can you get it so you dont see the leftovers of the emblems with out painting.. oh and if i remove one and paint it what kind of glue would i use to put it back on

    will youi be able to tell there was an emblem there? like from residue or faded paint( my paint is still in good condition

    no really... you could use some rubbing compound afterwards but basically if you take off all the residue tape and wash your car you can barely notice it.

    They also sell goo remover. And if you don't have a heat gun, I've seen it done with just a hair dryer and fishing line.

    when you say goo remover do you mean like that goo gone stuff cus i have some of that... its orange

    Goo Gone and other variety like it. Basically any of the stuff that helps remove adhesives. It usually will clear off just about all of the residue.

    nail polish remover works really good too just make sure you wash it off afterwards

    meguires step one paint cleaner works really well for removing emblem residue

    when you remove anything, especially if you use goo gone, MAKE SURE you wash and wax the area.
