    conventional fabric dye

hey what up guys. Im currently in the process of converting my tan/beige interior into a black/white interior. Ive gotten a lot done so far, but now Im at the stage in modding my interior fabrics. Im just going to reupholster my fabrics (door panels + headboard) but I was just wondering if I could use regular fabric dye to color my floor carpet? im not sure how many other people have done this, but I would like to know what exactly to use? thanks.

I dyed my carpet black and it looks good. It fades out sometimes in the high traffic spots though.

Hm... Well, I'm familiar with regular fabric dye. I know they make dye especially for auto carpet. Carpet, most of the time is just plastic. So it seems a bit resistant to water soluble dye. I would go with the specialized carpet/upholstry dye.
