    Have My Sc Installed Now!!!

I just got back from picking up my car. I'm somewhat pleased, so let me ask some questions before being displeased. I am very happy to have it, don't get me wrong. I just have concerns. These are just a few things that I have noticed so far. I have driven it around about 25 miles.

    1) There is a loud rattling sound. I know this may be caused from the low octane fuel that is left in my tank.

    2) At 3k rpms my car is only at 25 mph, which is just about where it was at stock. I am feeling the boost in the higher speeds. I can definitely hear the supercharger.

    3) There is a smell, kind of smell that is emitted when a car overheats. I checked under the hood but everything looks fine.

Is this normal. In the installation manual it says that the computer has to adjust etc... Any input is appreciated. Thanx!!!

    1) Not sure..make sure everything is tight

    2) A supercharger isn't going to make you go faster rpm/mph-wise -- you didn't change transmissions. :p It'll help you get there quicker, though.

    3) I'm not sure -- maybe the s/c is breaking in?

Hmm... I really don't know anything of this subject. I've heard that you need to break in your SC for some period of miles without going over limit on your RPMs. Like don't go over 35k RPMs for the next 3k Mi, or something to that extent... ?Maybe that's for a turbo? Just thought that might help... Hope you get it figured out.

If the smell only last for a little bit longer (like the next 25~50 miles) I wouldn't worry about it, it could be degreaser or engine cleaner (or other shit) they used when cleaning your engine for the install (so you don't get shit inside it), etc. For the rattling, i'd bring the car back, now, is it a rattling or a knocking sound? If its a rattling, I would have brought the car back as soon as I heard it, something is not on tight. If it's a knocking, try filling up your take high a high grade octane and see if it goes away (don't push it hard if it's knocking!).

you should feel a definate increase in power, but the issues with super chargers is that the boot of a super charger curve follows the same curve as a N/A engine. Peak boost doesnt not come until peak RPM, where as a turbos peak boost comes much lower when turbine has fully spooled.

the smell is probably oil, and gaskets breaking in. It is said not to WOT the car and try to run the engine below 4k at most during the inital brak in period of 3,000 miles. Once those 3,000 are down have at it. The rattling could be from the cold air intake if you are using a CAI with the Supercharger.

    Note:
Don't install TRD CAI, it will kick in the check engine light. beware.... Unless change your ECU to APexi Power FC to do it. :p
