    Interior removal

hey whats up guys. just tore apart the inside of my car last night. Im in the process of changing my whole interior into a black/white scheme. should look nice when im done. I was trying to take off the whole plastic dash peice, but it was soooooooo hard and seemed to be attached in so many places. i gave up on that. Ill probably end up just masking everything off and painting it as is. I hope to get all my painting done tommorrow so pictures should be up by then.

What exactly were you trying to remove? I have the 3 volume service manuals for the 98 Prizm if you need help disassembling something. I'm sure my volumes are pretty close to your 99 Corolla. Have you tried look on this website for help??:

Just enter 1999 Chevy Prizm - S Car - Body and Accessories - Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console - Repair Instructions........select what you're trying to take off. Hopefully this helps.

Make sure you download this first so you can get the detailed zoom pictures:

Lol, I'm not even going to bother taking out my dash. when it's warm out next year, I'm just going to mask it off and paint it as well. Just use the trick I did for my passenger side airbag DIY. Since the Krylon fusion paint is so thin and you run little chance of leaving brush strokes on the plastic with it (unless you really mess up), use a brush to paint the edges and the very front of it by the windshield. Once that dries, spray the rest of it. Be sure to mask off the entire inside car though, otherwise you'll regret it. Also, don't paint over the DRL sensor on the drivers side corner.

yup, that site is pretty awesome, but honestly the dash is a bitch to get out. I ended up painting a lot of my interior today, and eventually im going to dye my carpet and furthur in the future, there should be no traces of my car ever having that gay beige color scheme. Ill post pics up on my cardomain tommorow so you guys can tell me what you think. thanks again for your help vamp. always appreciated. oh, and im not sure when you changed the color of your car, but that grayish color looks sweet as

Oh yeah, lots. I've had my fair share of dash and wiring nightmares to last me for a while. I think masking off and painting it will be much easier.
