im not sure if its a high flow cat or not. it looks to me like a dummy cat. so it's pretty much like a straight pipe. anyone know how much power itll add?

Afaik, a cat is a cat..they'll cut the old one out and weld the new one in.

no, the 93-97 have a bolt on cat, which bolts on both sides, the 98 doesn't, you'll have to weld it in there.......I am thinking that one side of the cat is bolted, and the other is welded, I don't know why they decided to do that. I would have left it alone....But then again toyota didn't ask me when they thought up the 98 corolla either

A local muffler place will give me a highflow cat for $100 installed, I think...have to check again. I have no idea what they go for, though.

I'm not sure about the fitment of the cat converter from a 93 to a 98, but I've read that hi-flow cats don't make a big difference, is this true?

in an N/A setup; they will make a big difference- you'll lose quite a bit of low end power...

If just change the cat, not the whole cat back, I don't think you will gain any. Maybe 1hp?

I don't think that it is going to make a difference N/A with just changing that. I think that you are going to loost low end do to the ....due to something. It will be louder, it will sound like the cars on F&F. It sounds good, but I don't think that you notice anything until the high end, then it's still not that much.

well it's not a waste of money if you do it with other things, like a turbo/super charger, and/or headers, and/or mandrel bend exhaust

any link to what you are talking about?

Speaking of which I dont think 93-95 cats works on 96-97 corollas. The reason being OBD II, all car models sold 96- are equipped with that BS which incorperates a secondary o2 sensor after the cat to make sure the emissions control pos in our cars are working correctly.

oh btw there are only a few companies (magnaflow, ???) who make aftermarket High Flow Cats which are OBD II compatable and CARB approved.. asshole CARB. I hate those bitches!
