    PIAA lights and DRL

I"m thinking about getting these bulbs:

Its for a 2000 corolla... What do u guys think about these bulbs. I have redline bulbs i bought at bestbuy they are semi blue when its cold out or the bulbs are cold. But once the bulbs heat up and u drive around for a while they just turn white and stay white. I want mostly blue. Almost HID level..

But i heard these will melt the wire harness. I also want to disable daytime running lights. That guide from dark vamp is pretty complicated. It'll probably void my 2 year warranty i still have left. Its not as easy as just taking out a fuse from the fuse box or something like that?

A bit too "blue" for me. Real HIDs run from 4000K-4400K. Anything 5000K or above starts to look purple and actually is dimmer than standard bulbs (blue wavelengths have the hardest time penetrating aerosols and haze that you might run into at night).

As for disabling the DRLs - that is about the only right way to do it. Anything else, you might run the risk of shorting out the integration relay or messing up the "twilight sentinal" sensor they put in the cars.

Isn't this what Vamp's DIY said?
I spliced in some wires and installed a toggle switch under the driverside incase I ever wanted to turn them back w/o taking the glove box out. Ever since I put HID's in though, that ain't happening.

How much are you spending on those bulbs? I went through $80 Polargs/Raybrigs, $20 Hipers, $40 APC's (yes, I admit it), and some random "HID-like" bulbs and even Silverstars... and all of them lasted about 3 months, and I had a high-current wire harness to back them up. Finally I got fed up and bought HIDs.

You can get an aftermarket wireharness with lower gauge cables so you won't melt them when you're feeding more current through them. Last I checked, Walmart had them off in a corner in their car audio section. I bought mine off the old vvti-forum from one of the members (Jae?) who was sellin' them at the time.

If the car has twilight sentinal option it will also be disabled. The TSB from Toyota is the same as the DIY they both use the exact same pin to disable them.
