Bad wheel bearings make a high pitched metal on metal screeching noises (chirps, grumbling, and/or moaning) or sometimes there is a grinding noise when turning. Other symptoms include wandering or pulling to one side or the other when braking (usually brake related).

To check a wheel bearing, grap the tire at the top and bottom and try to rock the tire in and out. Any play - a good bet that the bearings are shot. Rotate the tire by hand - any noise or roughness indicated possible bearing damage.

Depending on your model year - these bearing might be a one piece kind of deal - anywhere from $80 to $300 a piece (brand new). You can change one - but they usually tell you replace an axle set.

Good Luck.

Sounds like you killed a wheel bearing(s). Could also be something jammed between the brake pad and rotor or warped caliper bracket is jammed up next to the rotor.

well its the front and im driving a 2003

upon further driving i noticed that the squeeking is most noticable when i hit the breaks.
my friend said there might be dirt in the rotor?

now its a constant screaching noise, what is going on. its getting worse the more i drive it.

are brakes covered under warrenty?

Nope. Brakes are not covered under any warranty. You can get a can of brake cleaner and hose down the brake rotor and pad (after it has cooled). Best way is to pop the caliper off and see if anything has jammed into the face of the brake pad. Could also be a bent brake "squealer". Look the rotor - if you see any scoring, then it probably has something to due with the brakes. If you don't see anyting, then it probably is the bearings.

You got in an accident that you caused. It won't be covered by warentee. Those guys are pretty smart, you probably won't be able to pull one by them if it's obvious you caused it.

One possibility that is very unlikely and I only bring up because it happened to me. My bent my front right control arm when I lost control in the rain because of a deer. Ended up on the side of the hill after I popped the curb. Dunno how bad it was for you, but I had the same symptoms. My control arm costed 900 to replace.
