Spin-Turn knob installed! pics kinda work now

I just bought my Spin-Turn knob (drift knob) from DriftFactory. Their service is quite good, i ordered one day, and recieved it the next. The knob is authentic Cusco brand, directly from japan. Let's get started on the install. This particular knob will be installed onto my 2001 Toyota Corolla S.
Note: these instructions are for Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, and Mazda only. Nissan instructions are different.
here is the package the knob comes in
    [IMG]
And heres how the e-brake button is stock
    [IMG]
first, use pliers to unscrew the original button. it's better to use a vise-grip plier but i dont have one.
    heres the button by itself
    [IMG]
and here's the spring which has to be removed or else it defeats teh whole purpose of having a spin-turn knob
    [IMG]
then you screw in the spin-turn knob into your e-brake
    [IMG]
    voala! here it is...installed

    brake released

Thanks for looking. Tell me what you guys think

Forgive my ignorance but what does it do and what is it? Your pics are very dark.

try adjusting you're screens brightness to see the pics.
it's supposedly inspired by rally techniques, where you use the e-brake to quickly corner. the spin-turn knob enables you to do the same without holding down the button while yanking the stick. just pull and release. many people use this thing for drifting. i just bought it cause it seemed like a good idea and my stock button looked pretty beat up.

Thanks everyone for the good comments.
Ninety Four : I know how you feel, living everyday wondering what stuff is. But you learn something everyday i guess.
Killercocopuff : Thanks, I made the golfball knob myself. It works suprisingly well and is a bit more accurate than straight style knobs.
Jspexae102 : I'm sorry about that the pictures are giving you trouble on your monitor.
TurismoDreamin : know what, same situation on me. That knob isnt really useful yet cause my brakes are pretty beat. My mom drove down the block with the e-brake on so yeah, gotta replace the drum shoes soon.

Before you explained what thing did I thought it was a replacement for your turn signal. lol I always got mad when I saw those things on ebay b/c I thought they were really stupid. This clears things up.

you turn it and it will hold the parking brake.

oops, my mistake. on one version of the knob it would be screwed in or out to either engage or disengage the button.

so it stays either in or out depending on what you set it to? that seems like a easier idea if you want to set the parking brake on all the time, but just hope something doesn't hit the knob in and disengage the parking brake.

yaeh im running a risk right now. but i tried hitting the knob seeing how easy it disengages. its quite hard to get it disengaged without lifting the lever.

if i left the spring in, it'd defeat the purpose of having a spin-turn knob (unless you're using it for show only). it'll act as it did normally.
