    wierd squeaking..

from the front. back in May, or around then, we lowered the front end of my car. didn't get to the back end because of equipment issues, but that's another story.

my front suspension is now squeaking like a fiend. anytime i turn/hit a bump/slam the door, the front driver strut and/or spring squeak horribly. any ideas on what could be the culprit, or a possible solution? i'll provide answers as best i can if there are questions.

    thanks in advance...

Just some dirt I think. Maybe try to clean it up and see?

can't right now, don't own any tools...though i might talk to one of the techs at work and see what they think.

    thanks for the thought.

    any other ideas?

Did you install the rubber ring between the spring and the strut seat? There's one on top and one on the bottom.

Also, my front bumper cover squeaks..something is loose -- are you 100% sure it's the suspension?

Try turning the wheel all the way over (or jack the car up) and wiggle the strut assembly; see if you can get anything to move.

A friend and I just replaced my drivers' strut on Saturday, so my memory is relatively fresh..but that's all I can think of.

You have Intrax/Tokico, right? Mine fit fine -- there's an edge in the strut seat which the end of the spring butts up against.

How were they not seated properly? The end of the bottom spring wasnt in the notch?

I had a clunking noise when mine was lowered. Raised it back up to stock and it's quiet as can be. I'd rather have a quiet car than have it lowered, guess It's my age making me think that way now.

if theyre lowering springs then they are short enough that you can raise the car with a jack and just rotate them by hand into the proper position.

thanks for the suggestion. i'm aware of it, i just don't have the time to do it today(too much else to do)...and i'll have the car lifted next week anyway. i figure why not do it all at once?
