    fixing windshield crack?

I caught a rock on the highway and have a nice little "bullet hole" looking crack. Anyone have experience fixing it? Im in Europe right now and insurance doesnt cover it for free, so I want to temporarily fix it til I get back to Florida where they do it for free. Any suggestions or links? Thanks guys

Bullet hole? Is there a pit in the center and small little cracks branching out away from it?

If it is, and you haven't had any water on your windsheild you may be ok with putting a piece of clear packing tape over it. make sure it covers a little more area around it to ensure a tight seal. This will keep water out. I don't know if you're getting down to freezing there, but... water will get inside, expand and crack your window even more if it gets cold enough. if the temp is warm enough, I wouldn't worry about it. just tape it to keep it clean and dry.

If it has been wet and cold the best thing you can do to keep it from spreading is to get it done professionally. It shouldn't cost too much. It's like $40 a chip around here. The shop will evaporate moisture, clean any dirt, and then fill the cracks with pressurized resin and then cure it. It should fill up the cracks and make it significanly less visible.

Yeah, they make little d-i-y kits too. Once the glue is in there and cured there is no re-filling if you've missed some. So take your time with it.

I had the exact same problem, thought like a 2 inch crack would be fine, spread to about a foot within a week and had to replace the whole thing.
