Engine Quest for 300HP

That's the ticket right there I would say. I don't think you'll be running 300 on anything less than 100 octane, but you can always drop the boost for 93 octane street use... just make sure you use all very good parts and take your time.

Also keep in mind, a flat 200 hp is better than a peaky 300 hp. The peaky 300 hp might be great for bragging rights, but on the street it's not perform.

Then again, you just might be able to get a flat 300 out of it, but you get my point.

Quest for 300HP

I know it might be a silly question but how much money would it cost to build a 1ZZ-FE up to a peak HP of 300HP with torque to match? And how much to rebuild the transmission to handle it? I'm just wondering because I really love my corolla and if the price is under $8k I might want to pursue this crazyness and do it I have a new Discover Card that needs some abusing. As for the people that say "Why not just buy another car". Because for some reason or another I really like working on my corolla

i say good luck brother its gonna be alot of work to push those ponies! but im in the same boat, i am setting my engine up for forced induction as we speak... if you are going naturally aspirated you should, get higher crompression pistons,port and polish your head,intake manifold,bore out the throttle body, header, full cat back exhaust system with a free flowing muffler...if you are going F/I go with lower compression forged pistons,new forged rods,larger injectors and pump, good sized intercooler and anything else you want...i hope this helps...i am sure others will contirbute with more info

Sleeved block, low compression pistons, forged rods, turbo and 20psi should bring you pretty close. =)

MWR has an MR-S running 11s..so the 1zz definitely can be built up.

Hahaha. What about those engines they just put up on MWR? The 1ZZ's that are like STAGE 4 for like 5g's. Are those capable of handing 300hp w/ boost?

Nice! I didn't see those..seems a little expensive, but it should handle a LOT of power.

Sweet. I'm going to do a little research but I might buy one of those MWR motors if it prooves to be a sweet setup for handling boost.

they r all talkin bout 1zz power, the mr-s is a 1zz, but yes if u got a 2zz u would need the 6 speed tranny (well unless u want an automatic)...but this whole thread is about the 1zz motor just fyi

that motor was a 3sgte swap in a 98-02 rolla

After I get my clutch and flywheel I think I might pony up the bucks for one of there engines.
