And you know a hell of a lot about Toyotas, but don't know jack about any other manufacturers. B/c I'm pretty savy with Toyotas - know a lot about them, but aside from displacement and approximate hp and torque and maybe their marketing claims, I know about next to nothing about other manufacturers - ESPECIALLY domestic vehicles.

I know that Honda is one of few if not the only to make engines that rotate counter-clockwise and that's about it. ;)

I'm still learning the "basics" about cars and engines. I've been really involved in cars since May, and since all the forums I belong to are for Toyota cars that's mostly what I hear/learn about...I certainly would like to learn more about the other manufacturers.

However, to my knowledge, domestic manufacturers still haven't learned of the benefits of variable valve timing or any other really exciting technologies...an engine is still an engine. For example, you could easily compare a Ford and a Chevy with HP numbers, torque, and weight, and decide who would win in a race, because the engines are basically similar in function. With an engine like the 2ZZ, you can't just look at HP and judge a race by it, because when used properly the value of lift isn't best counted in HP.

    haha *cough*bullshit*cough*

I will admit I know more about the Corolla's than I do any other import car, however my basic knowledge of engines and electronics in general gives me the ability to troubleshoot and do other things on most cars. As for domestic, after 1973 I refuse to touch it... *grin* lol However, the concept is kinda the same so its possible...
