1 Farad would be a better choice. I got a 1 farad cap with stock battery and stock alternator also. It helps alot more then I thought it would. It stopped my headlights from dimming and also I'm using about the same watts you are using.

i got a shitty 1200 watt amp that probably only pushes 650 watts max anyways and i got a cap. Before when the bass hit, my lights would dim. Now its not that bad. It fixed most of the problems i had. You gotta make sure u charge it right. I got a tsunami 1.2 farad cap and when u initially install it, ur suposed to charge it through the lightbulb then charge it normally.

But depends on ur system and the subs u got, but 1 farad would do u good. Never hurts to have more power saved up.

What kind of amp is it and what subs, and what year is ur rolla

    Rule of thumb, 500 watts = .5 farad, 1000 watts=1 farad.

in addition to all the posts... if you use a class d mono amp, its made more for that sort of thing. I used to have a small 2 channel amp, it was no good b/c on big bass hits, my lights would dim. Now that I have class d mono amp it seems to run better. A new battery and/or cap can't hurt... only help.

Caps are only a temporary fix for a weak electrical system.

no, i don't have 2 amps. it may be a mono channel, but i'm wiring my subs in parallel, plus if you looked at the amp, it has hook ups for wiring two subs in parallel.

cool, any advice for me??? im getting a 80 X 4 rms at 4 ohms amp for my 100rms components, and also im getting a 550rms mono d class amp at 2 ohms, thats powering 2 subs, both at 300rms/1,000max at 2 ohms. i was wondering if i should get a .5 or 1. cap, i'm planning on getting the 1.0 power cap from RockFord, if i need the cap, would you guys reccommend me getting a better battery than my stock one?? thanks.

rule of thumb #2: OPTIMA YELLOWTOP before a cap and you may see that a cap is not needed.

Take it from someone that wasted 150.00 on a cap and then bought a yellowtop for 110.00 on ebay and no longer needed a cap.

What blokkem said......pay the extra dough and get an optima yellow top, and most likely you wont need to buy a cap.
