    dynomax turbo muffler

Ok, some of you know that i bought a catback awhile ago, fell in love with it, and now i just had a divorce with it; the noise level was morally damaging to myself, my neighbors, and my parents.. so i decided did research on the quietest performance muffler out there- that my friends is the DYNOMAX super turbo muffler http://www.dynomax.com/superturbo.stm, it is SO quiet- my ears are repairing, but still sounds tremendously sweet- has a deep, soft purr to it... bought it for 40 bucks at advance auto- had it installed for 75, i couldnt be any happier...

those that say that you dont feel a differerence with diffferent mufflers and such are lying or not admitting it... basically, since this muffler isnt as free flowing as my previous straight through bullet type, there is more backpressure now- and you can feel it- the pedal doesnt fall to the floor as easy- it requires alot more muscle to press it down- but at the same time- the low end to mid range power has been drastically increased- im lovin that low end pull..

some pics; i know, the tip is a temp pipe, will get chrome tip sooner or later..

Is that still a high performance muffler or is it a standard reverse flow? I feel exactly the same way with my exhaust. I drive with the silencer in 80% of the time.

its considered a high performance muffler- (of course the company will write anything on the box!) its a 3 chambered muffler- so itll take longer for the gases to leave, disrupting the scavaging effect a little.. there is no more a requirement to floor the pedal to get moving all the time...

If the gas pedal is physically harder to press, then how does that have anything to do with your muffler?

    Just curious.

    LOL!
Yeah, all the extra torque shoves you back so hard that it is now much harder to overcome the awesome resistance generated by the throttle body's return spring!

^^im "assuming" its a backpressure issue...i actually dont know what it is, but i definitly felt a huge difference...changing the muffler obviously led to less flow=more backpressure...you figure out the rest princeton pete :)

oh dont get me wrong- this muffler DOES look ghetto-licious, but anyway, its more stock-ish now, so im now cool and hanging with the old people!
