    What's that smell??

So I back up into my garage like I do everyday when I come home...but this time as I step out of my car I smell something burning. At first I thought I caught another plastic bag somewhere on my exhaust pipe. So I check...nope nothing there. Then I pull the car out again and do a total inspection of the engine bay, no smell from there. I just start walking around the car thinking "what is that smell ?!?" Then I notice it...my TRD exhaust has melted itself about 1 cm up into my rear bumper. Question...how and why?

Well the thing is when I first installed it and the couple weeks that followed, the muffler was hangin' there, about an inch - 1 1/2" below the bumper and all of a sudden it's stuck up against the bumper. I'm confused.

might want to check how ur muller was mounted, mine would proally be an inch or so from the bumper too... might want to have that re-positioned, because i'm sure nothing's wrong with your muffler bro...

maybe scraped going over a bump or up an incline and it hit the muffler, bending the pipe...That happened to me

lol... this is some funny sh!t... metal transfer heat and exhaust gas is not cold u know... ur pipe from muffler to tip is bent or maybe ur rubber bushing that hangs the muffler is pushed up...

ok...guys....give me some credit here...I know that my exhaust melted through my bumper...I want to know what might have pushed it up that much and kept it there.

dunno man, were not psychics. like the other guy said, u coulda backed over a curb or somthing and bent it up, or somthing was mounted wrong. personally, ive backed over a high enough curb and scraped my muffler, but it didnt bent anything, and my muffler tip is .25" away from my bumper.

    sorry bro

I'm not a genius or anything, but maybe u wanna just take a look underneath ur car and see why ur muffler is backed up against ur bumper. It's a hell lot better than for us to guess why ur mufflers like that. That would be the easiest way to solve the problem.
