if i have more money. i ll get lexus... damn its a toyota man......and with mo money u could modify the GS400 like crazy. check out this car

which car is better lex or acura

my one friend wants me to get an acura legend, ewe, i wanna get a lexus gs400. so lets see.......a 94 acura legend with 200k on the motor, or a 2000 lexus gs400 which runs 14.6 stock in the quarter mile, with 40k on it?????? hmmm tough choice. his argument is that its a "Six speed." my argument this was the fastest sedan since the current m5. what would you choose acura legend OR the lex

im really sorry guys but, THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR MORE DISPLACEMENT

I am sure 99 out of 100 people would choose the GS400 if it was handed to them. Is it really a 6spd? I thought they were ALL auto? the legend is more than likely a 5spd Manual or a 4spd Auto. Well, auto or manual I would still get GS400. More 'pimp', lower mileage, not as old, pantee dropper.

Only downside is I bet it costs 3 times as much as the Legend.

How much are you looking to spend? That will play the biggest (and possibly only) role in this decesion.

I would definitly get the Legend. My friend has one and it is fast as hell. Some Legends do have 6 speed, but are very rare. My friend was looking all over for those, but ended up with a 5 speed auto. Plus the cool thing about the Legend is that you don't have to slam the door. If the door is not completely closed it automatically closes itself. BTW here is my friends car.

I think your a little confused. They only made the GS400 for 3 years if I am not mistaken. 1998, 1999, 2000 There is no way in hell they are going for 16k dollars. The blue book on one on edmunds.com is over 24k.

The acceleration (0-60 mph:( 5.9 sec. They never made a manual transmission for that car (At least for the 2000 Model)

And what year Corolla do you have?

Damn n00b. Read the thread before actually posting for once. The topic involves the Lexus GS400 and Acura Legend.

GS400 is auto, and its a heavy ass car. if you're intending to go out and race people with it, don't buy it because thats not what its for... with RWD and all that uneven weight its not an easy car to handle at high speed. especially if you're planning on driving crazy on the backroads like you do with your corolla.

to compare the gs400 to a legend is kind of stupid, they're completely different cars. if you want to have a fast car to race around the legend would be better. to have a show type car the gs would be better. i've driven the GS430 and the LS430 (my mom owns one) and yea the car has lots of power, its meant to be a somewhat sporty luxery sedan, but its not something you should be taking around a corner at high speed...

also, parts for the GS are EXPENSIVE as HELL. i also wouldn't buy a GS for 16k, that low price sounds fishy as hell... pay atlest 25-30k to get a low mileage dealer certified vehicle, its retarded not to do so. electronics on the lexus are known to malfunction and to replace them cost a shitload... maintenance for the gs is also not cheap at all. you also should get full cover insurance too, lexus HID's are stolen like crazy. in ny area lexus vehicles (LS, GS, RX) are one of the highest targets for stolen parts and stolen vehicles in its class.

you need to factor in all these variables into buying a car, especially a car you want to keep around for awhile. this is coming from a guy who's bought several cars in the past few years. also its mileage is nothing near what you get with your corolla...

and you can't do shit to a gs like how you treat your corolla (like not doing an oil change for 5000 miles....). its a high maintenance vehicle

haha... its also not the fastest sedan out there by FAR... TL-S is in the same range in quarter mile, so is the maxima, G35 and others... S4 would smoke it, so would the s60 (maybe the s40 too), ehh. too many cars to list, but yea you're misinformed.

I would much rather have the GS, rather have a sick looking car.
