my firestone affinity lh30's are sweet. they have sorta a soft sidewall, but they are sweet in the rain. i can take a sharp turn at 35mph and they won't slip at all.

but then again, anything is a world of improvement over my 14" bald mastercraft tires, mastercrap
just don't get goodyear integrity tires. those suck bad. for some reason, with those, the corolla has enough balls to spin the tires, yeah, they don't stick

Dont get Sumitomo's or the Pep Boy's Ventus Brand then both suck

If you want a good tire.

what about the Federal SS595? I got it on mine and it seems good cornering is good and driving in the rain is really good specially braking but then again like said earlier anything is better when compared to bald 14's so eh...

since your rollin on 18's i doubt u hit the canyons or autoX so u probably wont "need" any of the top grip tires. Falken Ziex 512's dont suck...jus dont let them get to be bald cuz then they do suck and they are loud but a good tire. If u want good grip get Kumho Estacs supra 712. If u want a nice tire for a cheap price...Kumho estacs 711

It also depends on where you live. As an all season "performance" tire, it is pretty hard to beat the 512's. If you live in a warmer climate with hardly any rain and no snow, then something like the Nitto 555's will beat the crap out of the 512's. Personally I live in Minnesota and have had a number of different tires. For all weather performance I would choose the 512's before anything else I have tried to far.

Excatly...some ppl are so quick to talk shit about a product. He probably took a 25 mph turn at 60...lost grip and figured since they are a "Performance" tire, he shouldnt have.

Kumho 716's are good for 50-65 series. I'm on my 2nd set of these. These are high performance tires and stick to the pavement like mad crazy, but are still comfortable to ride on. The 711's, I can only imagine, would be better since they are super high performance or whatever the next level up is - summer maybe?? Who knows. Kumhos are great tires for not a lot of money. Two thumbs up!

    I like my 512s..*shrug*

    I might try Nittos next - I'm not sure..but I run 14s, so tires are cheap. =)

    Edit: That's 14" rims, btw..not a 14sec 1/4. ;)

The turn was 45 mph and I took it at 55. I was freakin out that the ass end was about to be the front end. YES 512s DO SUCK. They are aweful in turns and much worse than the Kumhos I had before them. Performance?? 512s aren't even good enough to be regular passenger tires. They're not for a highway driver like me. When I decide on a GOOD highway tire the 512s are going in the dumpster!
