What do you mean "lower" your spring? Are you putting in new performance springs, or are you cutting your stock springs?

Either way you shouldn't have to, no. But don't cut stock springs, get good new ones.

Eibach says to cut down the bump stops in their install instructions of the Sportline lowering springs.

yeah, you should cut the bumpstops. it allows for the spring/strut assembly to fully compress.

I also have an Eibach Sportlines in my '93DX & didn't touch the bump stops. The front might look a little higher than the back because of the gap but if you look at it from a distance it's evenly lowered front & back.
Why do some have this rubbing unless the tires are to wide. I have the 205/40/16; so if someone have 215/40/16 or maybe more wider, will there be a rubbing?

Yo Alby, I just got my Sportlines installed. I'm a bit disappointed that the front is slightly higher than the rear. By the way, do you rub in the back? I don't have my KYB's on yet, or got an alignment. Just wondering if the rubbing stop after struts and alignment.

he's talking about cutting the bump stops, not the springs, duh!? i hope no one is stupid enough to cut the springs to save some money. a kid i know thought he could lower his car by putting on spring compressors really tight and riding like that. yeah, that worked for about 2 miles and then he hit a bump and it messed up his rim and tire and fenders. yeah, total dumbass.
anyways, i cut mu bumpstops, you don't really need to though, reason being that they are made out of foam and compress almost all the way when you stand on them, so, they don't provide any resistance. i cut mine, just so they look a little nicer. mine are about a half inch big

No cutting your bump stop will not lower the car any. I have sportlines too and I also wish the front was even with the back. When I took my interior totally apart I noticed that the back will be even with the front if you take your spare tire and back seats out but obviously thats not practical. I had rubbing in the back with my 16's and 17's until I bent the fender lip up. When I put the 17's on the front I also had to cut some of the splash guards away to get them not to rub when turning at an extreme angle.

I have 205/40/17's. Like I said though, I don't have an alignment yet, I'm on stock struts at the moment, and I have 2 12inch subs with spare tire and backseats. Since this is just temporary, I'm only going to get KYB's for the rear, and get an alignment. I am in search of a complete coilover system.

well the front fender is higher than the rear. i believe the drop is even. it just appears to be higher in the front.

i would rub taking hard turns with 17x7 rims wrapped in 205/40/17 tires. i have since then cut and grinded the rear fenders down. i have not rubbed since. you will probably have to roll or cut your fenders with wider aftermarket wheels and tires. it really is not that big of a deal.

What is the prefered method for rolling the fenders. I don't want to cut them.

sorry i didn't see this question until now.

the prefered method is to use the rolling machine. i am sure places like super autobacs have the machine to roll the fenders.

perhaps they can be rented. if you are not familiar with the machine it just rolls along the fender to roll it up properly without damaging it.

    sure, no problem for me!

speaking of rolling fenders, i just rolled my front fenders with the help of my frend and a metal baseball bat to accommodate those 215/40YR17 kumho ecsta mx's.

since those fenders are thinner in the middle areas the bat was the best way to go to create a nice curve so the tires wouldn't get sliced up.

Was waiting for someone to say that.

I had sportlines on my 94, and I didnt cut my bump stops. Had rubbing in the rear, and I used a mallet to get rid of the fender lip that was rubbing.

i imagine that is putting a lot more weight (load) on the front suspension since the car is squatting forward.

when cornering/braking are you careful not to overload your front tires?

i must say that it looks much better sitting like that, though.

Mine does too. I believe we both have an Intrax setup both with different struts, I have KYBs. Anyways the front of my car keeps getting lower as the springs settle and the back looks hiked up, like the car is raked. I tuck a LITTLE bit of tire in the front now and can only fit one to 2 fingers in the back, and Im riding on 14" rims...I had to take out one of the pieces of the inner fender in the front, dont worry the one that covers the engine is still there :) Heres some pics.
