2000 coroll have 2 diagnostic ports?

Which is the diagnostic port on a 2000 corolla? the one in the car understeering wheel or the one in the engine bay near the air box?

Where would i plug a performance tuner thing into? like a jet chip too?

Uh....two diagnostic ports?? Huh? Older OBD-I vehicles (96 and earlier) had the diagnostic port in the engine bay about where you're saying - around the airbox somewhere. Newer OBD-II vehicles (96 and later) have the diagnostic port on the underside of the dash to the left of the steering wheel. A performance tuner - dunno...what model. The only thing you can do from the diagnostic port is read sensor values and diagnostic trouble codes. You can only read data and test sensors and actuators. A performance tuner most likely requires cutting and splicing wires - wiring it into the ECU wiring harness. A jet chip has to be soldered onto the ECU circuit board - not something the run-of-the-mill DIY'er can do.

The port underneath and left of your steering wheel is for reading trouble codes.

i think the one in the engine bay is for a toyota diagnostic. my 97 says the word, diagnostic on it. an OBDII connector won't connect to it, it is alot bigger and more pins
