    question with alternator and amplifier

I hope someone can help me with this one. I want to get an amp with a subwoofer. No more than a 10" though. I dont want big bass just a little extra bass. What is the biggest watt amp that I can use without putting any strain on the stock 80 amp alternator that 98 corolla uses? Would a 360 watt amp work or would that be too much. Id like to know by this afternoon if possibly because I was hoping on purchasing it today. Thanks.

80 amps. I'm cranking out 800 watts to a single 10" sub and an additional 200 watts to my component speakers up front without any light dimming issues. I have a 1 farad Lightning Audio cap and am running HIDs.

When I originally first bought my rolla back in dec of 2000 I put a 500watt rf amp with a 12" rf sub in it that I had in my previous car (96 chevy lumina). The lights would dim and it seemed like the car was loosing power. I thought it was because the amp would take power away from the car which would ordinarily go to the engine from the alternator. I guess I'm wrong? I ended up selling that stuff on ebay.
